Thermolith S.A. was founded in 1998 with registered office in Kalyves, Chalkidiki, and is engaged in the production of basic refractory mixes for steelmaking uses. Through an extensive investment program, Thermolith increased its production capacity to meet its customers’ great demand for refractory products. In 1999 Thermolith decided to use olivine (an industrial mineral), a natural refractory product used in large quantities in basic refractory mixes.<\/p>\n
The mining activity and olivine processing are carried out in the area of Skoumtsa, Grevena. Meanwhile, Thermolith is also engaged in the marketing of olivine and its products. Since early in 2012, as part of the vertical integration of Sidenor Group\u2019s production processes, Aeiforos, a subsidiary of Sidenor, acquired a 70% stake in Thermolith and became its main shareholder.<\/p>\n

\nThe Company’s refractory products factory, of a total surface area of 20,000 m2 is located in Kalyves, Chalikidiki. It has three independent production lines for refractory mixes using crushing, sieving, weighing, mixing and packaging equipment as well as warehouses for raw materials and finished products. The plant\u2019s production capacity stands at 15,000 tons per annum.

\nThe olivine quarry and the mineral processing units are located in Skoumtsa. To mine olivine, Thermolith has 350,000 m2 of land registered for exploitation. The plant\u2019s production capacity stands at 40,000 tons per annum.<\/p>\n

\nProduct and services quality assurance is a top priority for Thermolith. Aiming to guarantee a high and consistent quality for its customers, the Company has upgraded the production lines, and has redesigned production procedures by increasing quality controls during production and by continuously training its staff. The Company applies in both of its production plants a Quality Management System certified according to the ISO 9001:2008 international standard. The Company’s Quality Assurance Policy consists in the continuous improvement of its products and services with the aim to fully satisfy its customers.<\/p>\n
